multiple-media.com announced today that it had designed and developed Crystal Dynamics’ new website, launched recently by the major American video game developer. The revamped site is powered by the Montreal Web agency’s highly efficient proprietary CMS, MMCM.

Crystal Dynamics was on a very tight schedule, and the new website was developed and deployed in record time–less than one week. multiple-media.com set up the site and Crystal Dynamics integrated the content and visuals, using MMCM. Besides the timeline, multiple media.com was presented with another hurdle: integrate a feed from the official Tomb Raider site directly into the Crystal Dynamics site. Creating a web application that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated tool is always a challenge, but the Montreal agency took it in stride, producing the required application, as expected.

“Working with a savvy, proactive team like the one at Crystal Dynamics is quite fascinating. We gave them a quick briefing on how to use MMCM and before we knew it, they were playing it like pros–which they are, of course,” said multiple-media.com president Renato Cudicio. “This new website reinforces our presence in the US, where our know-how and cost-efficiency give us a definite edge, even when the two currencies are on par.”
Crystal Dynamics released Tomb Raider: Legend in 2006, selling more than 2.6 million units worldwide, and recently co-developed Tomb Raider: Anniversary. Both games are offsprings of the critically acclaimed and widely influential Lara Croft series. The San Francisco Bay Area game developer is presently preparing the much-awaited release of Tomb Raider: Underworld, scheduled for release in November.
