In order to reduce its ecological footprint, multiple-media.com has moved its hosting infrastructure to the Canix data centers, in Montreal, which uses renewable energy– hydroelectricity–just like all Quebec consumers and businesses.
Canix has succeeded in minimizing the energy consumption of its equipment while actually improving the performance of its data centers. A “green” air cooler system uses external cold air, so that natural energy helps manage the temperature of the installations, which greatly reduces energy consumption. The Canix data center is reputed for its safety and reliability, in addition to being easy on the environment.
Since its creation in 1997, multiple-media.com and its entire team take an active part in reducing the ecological footprint of the agency, whose environmental values are reflected in all its actions and projects. In 2008, the agency received a certification from Planetair, an independent non-profit organization. multiple-media.com has committed to offsetting its CO2 emissions as much as possible and to investing in development projects designed to compensate for the greenhouse gases the agency generates in the context of its activities.
For the record, multiple-media.com has supported scientific research project EM-1 in Northern Quebec since 2003. Results released in 2010 showed that hydroelectric reservoirs in the boreal region produce very small quantities of greenhouse gases and therefore have a limited impact on the environment.
