Working with multiple-media.com, the Commission
scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys (CSMB), a leader among Quebec's
larger schoolboards, plans to develop a Web site, dedicated to
inform and support exchanges of ideas, that will be up to par with
its mandate and its ambitions.
The school board, which expects to inaugurate the
new portal in the coming months, will offer visitors not only news
and updates about its activities, but also links towards the sites
of the many institutions it manages.
Students, parents, teachers, education
professionals and managers of the various institutions will be able
to log on to CSMB.qc.ca for information on the school board and on
its various schools and training centers, all of which will have
their own personalized fact sheet on the portal.
The CSMB portal will also offer education
professionals links towards sites built by their colleagues around
different educational themes, and a location tool will help parents
easily find their neighbourhood school. A leading edge
technical infrastructure will feed the site with the addresses and
phone numbers of the various schools from a central database, thus
eliminating the risk of errors as well as tedious data entry.
The school board will use MMCM, the user-friendly
content management tool developed by multiple-media.com, to update
the portal, eliminating the need for highly technical skills.
The institutions that comprise the school board will also use MMCM
to update their individual fact sheets as often as necessary.
The future portal will complete a major strategic
effort by the school board's communications bureau to overhaul and
enhance its information tools.
